When I first downloaded Chrome ( the new Google browser ) I immediately found a bug which didn't actually let me dump my current Firefox browser. I waited for a while for the update patch. But it didn't show up.
Then I decided to look for the problem/solution posted over net. And guess what ? I found the solution !
Download the patch from chrome-patch and run it while all your Chrome browser instances are closed.
I am using HP Pavilion dv6000z notebook which has synaptic touch pad. It worked for me.
